Why Is This Ultra-Liberal New Yorker
Trying To Grab Lands In Utah?
Ultra-liberal New York Congressman Maurice Hinchey has
been trying to grab public lands in Utah for more than a decade. That's how long
he has been pushing for federal legislation to lock away public
lands in our state from the multiple use Utahns have
enjoyed for decades.
If he succeeds in this Utah land grab, he will cost our state tens
of millions of dollars in lost revenue that would accrue from royalty payments made by energy companies
that help
harvest Utah's abundant oil, gas and coal resources. What's
more, these lands would be off-limits to many recreational uses, and
access for people in wheelchairs would be limited if it's available
at all.
If you oppose Maurice Hinchey's land grab, add your name to the
citizen petition below. We will deliver this petition to the
Congressman's office (and distribute it to news media throughout his
district) when it is completed.

Defend Utah Lands!
Take 60 seconds and tell Congress and the
federal Bureau of Land Management to keep public lands in Utah open to the
public. Tell them not to let extremist groups lock away our lands forever.
Take action here.
